Ángel Custodio (Guardian Angel) sculpture. The controversial Monument of the Angel Custodio was erected in 2003 by the Mexican artist Enrique Carbajal Sebastian on the Boulevard 5 de Mayo, between the Barrio de Analco and Avenida Juan de Palafox y Mendoza. Not popular at the time but since its become an Emblem of the city of Puebla. The name of the monument is a tribute to the patron of the Church of the Barrio de Analco, "Santo Ángel de Custodio", which is located in front of the monument. Enrique Carvajal, Sebastián, is a Chihuahuan artist specializing in monumental architecture and has made projects in San Antonio, Dallas and Osaka; In DF the Red Lion on Paseo de la Reforma. Eight states of the Mexican Republic have a statue by Sebastián.
