
Ex-convento de San Francisco de Puebla was the first convent established in the city of Puebla and it is located in the oldest part of the city. An inscription on the sacristy wall reads "1631," and the annals mention that the tower was completed in 1672, and in 1673 "a fountain was installed and paved throughout. The temple was consecrated between 1615 and 1697 to the imprint of the wounds of Our Seraphic Father Saint Francis. The church compliments Puebla de Zaragoza 1987 UNESCO World Heritage Site designation.
