We are visiting Atlixco, Puebla for the day. Atlixco is a Pueblo Magico (Magic Town of Mexico) designated in 2015. Atlixco is known for its abundant production of ornamental plants and cut flowers A Pueblo Magico is a Mexican town granted status by the Mexican government for its “magical” qualities. This could be its beauty, historical importance, or its natural wonders. The program began in 2001 and as of 01 August, 2023, there are 177 Pueblos Magicos in Mexico. The criteria is a tad watered down IMO. 01 May, 2025 the program criteria is under review to tighten the requirements.
