
The Germán Martínez Hidalgo Planetarium of Puebla is dedicated to the dissemination of science and technology, open to the general public. The Planetarium provides audiences with OMNIMAX projections, a digital star projector, traveling and permanent exhibits, interactive games, and workshops on robotics, chemistry, physics, and other topics. Germán Martinez Hidalgo (23 December, 1929 – 25 April, 2009 Puebla, Mexico) was a scientist, physicist, mathematician, chemist, and astronomer who popularized science by writing weekly articles in the Mexican newspaper, El Sol de Puebla. Martinez was a professor, college principal, planetary director, humanist, philosopher and historian. The Planetarium opened its doors in February 1985. The tall structure in the background is Teleférico Puebla, a tourist attraction ride over the park.
