Alva Edison University began in 1982 as a Computer Institute, offering computer technician and computer programming programs. Over the years, it has operated in several buildings, all located in the city's historic center.. In 1999 the Ministry of Public Education granted official recognition of academic validity to five bachelor's and two master's programs, transforming our institution into a university.
