
La Juarez - Fuente de los Frailes (Fountain of the Friars) a sculpture and fountain on Avendia Juárez. The Fountain of the Friars or The Fountain of the Angels, is located on Juárez Avenue and Atlixco Boulevard in the La Paz neighbourhood, The monument dates from the 1950s and was built to highlight the history of the City of Angels. The monument was erected in honor of the founders of Puebla, who according to legend was a group of angels who revealed to the bishop of Tlaxcala, Julián Garcés, the place where the city of Puebla was to be built in 1530. It was constructed in 1957 and has four angels pointing to the four cardinal points, as if they were guarding the capital city.
