Image Description: In my last visits to downtown i have seen a lot of paramedics and i felt i had to photograph one for the project. I was near el teatro principal when i saw Alfonso walking towards me, his uniform caught my atention, i was hoping him to be a paramedic, if not, still is interesting to meet people who dedicates some of his time to help a good cause.
Alfonso was using headphones, he didn't listen to me at first and with the risk of being annoying, i waved my hands to get his atention, i did it and he didn't got upset because of that. Alfonso was very serious, he asked what was the purpose of the photos because with his uniform he is representing an institution, i explained more the project and he had no problem.
Alfonso has been a paramedic for 2 years, to become one it took him one year of preparation. Before being a paramedic, he worked as a sales representative for a pharmaceutical company untill it closed. Stupidly i forgot to ask why did he turn into a paramedic. Seriously i would have been a lousy journalist.

Image Description: Since the end of daylight saving time i wasn't very eager to look for strangers at night, because unless i'm shooting light painting/long exposure related, taking pictures at night gets very difficult for me. But since one of the objectives of the project is to take the photographer out of his/hers comfort zone, i decided to stay a bit more after dusk and photograph at least one person.
Before i kept looking for strangers, i prepared my flash, put batteries that were charged a day before, took a few test shots and at that moment everything was ok. I was walking trought the alley were i met Abigail and Esteban, saw Ángel sitting on a bench, i approached to talk about the project and he had no problem.
I knew i had to use my flash, so i warned Ángel about it. I turned it on and waited for it to charge... it never did. FML i said to myself. I was prepared and i had another set of batteries, and also it was a good thing that Ángel was patient and gave me the chance to change them, they worked this time.
Ángel is an advertising communication and design student who's about to finish, in fact his graduation is this December. After graduating his planning to go to Guadalajara to find a job in an advertising studio, gain experience and then get a work for any advertising studio in Mexico City.

FML me dije a mi mismo.
